# 4. Event Meta and Date Formats

Choose which event details show on each card, and how the date is written.

## Choose the details

1. Open **Content > Content Fields** and turn on **Event Meta Fields**.
2. In **Event Meta Data**, add the details you want, in the order you want: **Event Time**, **Venue**, **Organizer**, **Price**, **Taxonomy** (category or tag) and **Series Archive**.
3. Each detail has its own options behind the pencil icon next to its name, including its icon.
4. Optional: type a character in **Separator Between**, for example `|` or `·`, to show it between the details.

| Detail | Options |
| --- | --- |
| Venue | Which parts to show: Address, City, Country, State, Postal Code, Phone; Show Map Link. |
| Taxonomy | Event categories or tags. |
| Event Time | Date Type: start, end, or start and end; Date Format (below). |
| Series Archive | Series Title, for recurring events from Events Calendar Pro. |

## Set the date format

1. Open the **Event Time** options (pencil icon).
2. Under **Date Type**, choose whether to show the start, the end, or both.
3. In **Date Format**, pick one of the 12 ready formats, for example *Jan 01 2024* or *12:50 AM*.
4. Or set **Date Format** to **Custom** and type a PHP date format in **Custom Date Format**, for example `l, F j` for "Monday, October 19". The link under the box opens WordPress's guide to date formats.
