# 7. Updating

Update Eventful Pro for Elementor from your WordPress dashboard like any other plugin.

Updates need an active license key. See [Activating Your License Key](https://elementor.wpeventful.com/docs/activating-your-license-key/).

1. Back up your site. Most hosts and backup plugins can do this in one click.
2. Go to **Dashboard > Updates**, or to **Plugins**, where the plugin shows "There is a new version available".
3. Click **View version details** to read what changed. The same notes are on the [changelog](https://elementor.wpeventful.com/changelog/) page.
4. Click **Update now**.
5. If your site uses a page cache, clear it, then check a page with an Eventful widget.

## Update manually

If automatic updates are not possible, download the latest zip from your [ThemeAtelier account](https://themeatelier.net/login/?utm_source=efesite&utm_medium=docs), then go to **Plugins > Add New Plugin > Upload Plugin**, upload it and choose **Replace current with uploaded**. Your widgets and settings stay as they are.
